OHIO — The Inflation Reduction Act, signed into law last year, will have a major impact on many older Americans this year. The legislation reduces the cost of multiple prescription drugs for Medicare participants.

In an interview with Spectrum News, Leigh Purvis, AARP’s Senior Director of Health Care Costs and Access, discussed the new and expanded benefits including free vaccines and caps on the cost of insulin.
"This is definitely a law that affects everyone in Medicare," says Purvis. "And a lot of them are going to be seeing lower drug prices and lower drug costs as a result of of what's in this law."
